Leadership topic - Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton CBE  is regarded as one of the most successful and influential guitarists in rock and blues music. Clapton ranked second in Rolling Stones list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Timeand fourth in Gibsons “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time”.[4] He was also named number five in Time magazine’s list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players”.

As Covid was raging, an author decided to take his New York Times best-selling insights on human behavior… and give it away. Watching the world around him change dramatically, he wanted to do something he could to change the course. And not surprisingly, he focused on something Positive – what can each of us do differently to get our own Mental Fitness back into shape?  I was honored to be included in that “gift” and was one of the first 200 coaches certified in Positive Intelligence in 2021.

And – I have learned that I really don’t know something until I can write about it… in my own words. So when I needed someone with a deep catalog of great music and even more interesting (and tortured) stories, Eric was the perfect selection. His struggles with addiction, groups, and women, to say nothing of losing a small child – and turning these all into foundational rock and blues hits from the ’60s through 2020, I knew he could demonstrate the Saboteur and Sage voices that we wanted to explore.

Leadership was something that came slowly to Eric, but was something that he eventually grasped and took charge of both his own challenges, but also provide environments like the Crossroads Addiction Center in Antiguta for others to work on their fitness – physical and mental. And he provides a platform for all the amazing guitar legends that gave him his own path. I think you will find some amazing insights from his own journey, and if you want to learn more how PQ can help your own journey, more is found on our main site, empoweringLEADERS – here.

Prepare to meet the Saboteurs: Judge, Achiever, Pleaser, Stickler, Vigilant, Rational, Avoider, Restless, Victim, Controller, followed by the much nicer Voices of the Sage: Empathy, Explore, Innovate, Activate, Navigate with a great soundtrack!
